Outreach Coordinator

    General Description

    The Outreach Coordinator for the SFC Board of Directors (BOD) is charged with creating opportunities for community members to learn about the sport of curling. The Outreach Coordinator serves as one of 9 to 13 active volunteer Directors, each of which is given responsibility for an aspect of overall club management. This position is a volunteer position without compensation.

    General board members are appointed for 3-year terms, but may be renewed indefinitely on an annual basis.


    As a general member of the BOD, the Outreach Coordinator will be a voting member of the board.


    • Organize, recruit volunteers for, and promote learn to curl events throughout the year.
    • Oversee educational opportunities SFC has within the community such as events in local schools or community events such as festivals.
    • Compliance with all necessary trainings and qualifications as outlined by USA Curling and SFC.


    Though no experience is required, SFC will most benefit from an Outreach Coordinator who has experience organizing events and working with volunteers. Experience teaching and mentoring others is also recommended but not required.

    A successful Outreach Coordinator will also possess the following:

    • USCA Level I Instructor Certification
    • Ability to work ahead when planning and strong organizational skills.
    • Willingness and ability to communicate with other Board Members to promote and organize events.
